The latest episode of Pokemon Generations has been released on the official Pokemon YouTube channel, and this one focuses on Team Magma’s penultimate goal: ridding the world of oceans with the help of legendary Pokemon Groudon.
In “The Vision,” Team Magma is infiltrated by Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald’s male protagonist, who takes on multiple members with the help of his Sceptile. We also get a good look at Groudon wreaking havoc on a bunch of islands and seemingly Team Magma themselves. You can see the full episode below.
“The Vision” marks Generations‘ seventh episode. The series is all about taking classic moments, characters, and locations in Pokemon video games and putting them in a new light. So far, we’ve seen episodes that follow police officers chasing down Team Rocket, a battle with the Elite Four, and the infiltration of Team Rocket’s Mahogany Town base.
18 episodes are planned in total, meaning we’ll see 11 more through December 23.
2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the series, and there has been an onslaught of Pokemon-related stuff to celebrate the occasion. Earlier this year, we saw the release of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow to the 3DS Virtual Console, in addition to a pretty awesome Super Bowl commercial. This past summer, augmented-reality game Pokemon Go released and surpassed 500 million downloads, topping the sales charts.
Players looking for something new have the upcoming games Pokemon Sun and Moon to look forward to. They release on November 18 for 3DS and feature a bunch of new creatures, as well as new forms for classic Pokemon. A demo for the new Pokemon game will be available October 18 on the eShop.
