A New Frontier is the latest installment in the video game series based on The Walking Dead franchise. In the game you’ll be able to import your saved games from previous titles, allowing you to learn the subsequent fates of Clementine, the protagonist of the first two parts of The Walking Dead video game. This time, she’s a support character, though, and you will be controlling a new protagonist – Javier, who, along with his family, will have to face the nightmare prepared for them by the setting. As in all games from Telltale, the choices you make will often have consequences in the future, and whether you’ll be able to keep certain characters alive, depends on you alone.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier Video Game
- genre: Adventure
- developer: Telltale Games
- publisher: Telltale Games
- platform: PC, PS4, XONE
The Walking Dead: Season Three is the third season of the popular series of episodic adventure games developed by Telltale Games, based on the cult series of comics and TV series.
Mechanics of the game use the well received solutions known not only from The Walking Dead series but from most other episodic adventure games developed by Telltale Games as well. The gameplay focuses on exploration and conversations with non-playable characters. In difference to typical adventure games, The Walking Dead: Season Three for lacks puzzles. Instead of that, the game focuses once again on the necessity to make moral choices which determine the shape of the story. This is supplemented with occasional action sequences.
A completely new save game transferring system was implemented for the game. It allows transferring saves between various gaming platforms. Thanks to that player doesn’t need to play the game from the beginning after changing console or switching to mobile platforms.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Season Three coming out this November
Telltale Games has announced that the third season of their The Walking Dead adventure series is launching this November. The game has got a new subtitle: A New Frontier.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead – Season 3 to go hand in hand with the comics more than the season two did
The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series – Season 3 will be more closely related to the comics than the season two was. Robert Kirman also said that we will get to check on fans-favorite Clementine.
The game begins with either importing your saved game from the previous part of The Walking Dead video game, event reconstruction, or choosing a default scenario. Sadly, the differences between the three options are scarce, and you’ll be made aware of them only in the third chapter, when Clementine recollects some things from her past. Neither the characters’ fates will change because of this choice, as all of them will eventually die. The differences have been divided into four memories, featuring Kenny, Jane, AJ, or Clementine, and correspond only with the events of the last few minutes of the second part of The Walking Dead video game.
- Howe’s Hardware – This choice will show you the scene with Jane in chapter 3;
- Wellington and Leave with Kenny – This choice will show you the scene with Kenny in chapter 3;
- Travel alone / Enter Wellington – This choice will show you the scene with Clementine and AJ in chapter 3.
After you’ve chosen your background, you’ll be able to proceed to the game and meet the new characters. Familiarize yourself with game mechanics and dialogue choices by talking to the members of your family.
Don’t do that |
Yea, I get it |
I tried to get here |
… |
Go on, hit me |
I’m sorry, okay? |
He was my dad too! |
… |
We’re just playing |
Your dad is a bully |
It’s nothing |
… |
I know |
F*ck off |
Funny way of showing it |
… |
Try being nicer |
I’m not saying |
I know you’re right |
… |
Maybe we should go |
I’ve never seen so many |
Why does it matter? |
… |
It’d be nice to stop |
We keep moving |
Thought you had all the answers |
… |
Want me to roll it? |
Don’t wake the kids |
Should we be smoking right now? |
… |
No thanks |
Sure |
I think you’re doing all right |
David was a stubborn guy |
Do you miss him? |
… |
Don’t say that |
It’s just a phase |
I didn’t sign up for this either |
… |
Wanna pull over? |
You know we can’t |
The kids can hear you |
… |
Kate’s smoking weed |
Go back to sleep |
We hit a skunk |
… |
Need some time alone? |
Praying for our safety? |
That’s not necessary |
… |
Sounds like a candy bar |
Basically, everything |
A water bottle |
… |
After the conversation, you’ll have to repel a walker attack. Push the buttons as they appear on the screen to win the fight, then return to your dialogue.
I hate it too |
Just like his dad |
Don’t let it get to you |
… |
You shouldn’t ignore us |
Wish I could tune out |
That’s sneaky |
… |
Your next task will be to search the area, looking for various useful things, especially gas. Approach wrecked cars and try to drain some gas from their tanks. You can also talk to other family members. Once you’re done, approach the ladder on the end of the road, near the container, and climb it
Once on the other side, you’ll find an ambulance, and a bit more gas in it. Use a crowbar to rip open the tank and, having first set the pomp, search the vicinity of the car. First, head for the main door of the nearby shack and peek inside through the window. You will learn that there’s a hatch in the floor, through which you can get inside. Then, head down and remove the wooden plank blocking access to the space under the stairs and go inside. Finally, open the hatch at the end of the road and enter the trailer. Inside, you will find some interesting things, such as batteries in the drawer and some food on the shelves. You can give the batteries to Mariana later on.
I think it’s cozy |
It doesn’t feel safe |
This place is a dump |
… |
This will be your first important choice in this episode. You have to make the call whether your family stays the night in the trailer or remains on the road.
- We have to keep moving – you decide against the stop
- We can stay the night – you decide to remain in the trailer
The difference lies in a short conversation with Kate. If you choose the first option, Kate will force her opinion, making you stay either way. Both decisions will have the same conclusion, as a group of men pointing guns at you will interrupt you in the middle of filling the tank of your car.
You can keep it |
It’s my gas now |
We only need a little |
… |
They’ll be back |
They took off |
I’m alone |
… |
I can replace it all |
We didn’t take much |
I ate them all |
… |
You’ll regret this |
Just let me go |
We can work this out |
… |
Touch that and you die |
Only the dead down there |
Go ahead and look |
… |
The conversation with a gang member will end with a struggle, and you will end up shooting the man. You’ll be overpowered and incapacitated, after which you’ll wake up on the road, in a car driven by another stranger.
Please, say something |
Hey, answer me! |
Asshole |
… |
You have to go back |
That wasn’t my fault |
Let’s work something out |
… |
After a short monologue, you’ll face another determining choice. You’ll have to decide whether to shoot the driver or let him go.
- Let him go – The driver leaves
- Shoot him – You kill the driver
The only difference is Clementine’s attitude to you in the following conversation. Perhaps we’ll see this man later on, but he’s absent from episodes 1 and 2.
I surrender, okay? |
Please help me out |
I’m having a bad day |
… |
I think you overdid it |
You almost killed me! |
Why? |
… |
Put it back, now |
That’s for my niece |
You’re just a thief |
… |
I don’t blame you |
Are you serious? |
The feeling is mutual |
… |
That’s a cool name |
Nice to meet you |
Thanks for not shooting me |
… |
I promise not to shoot you |
We can help each other |
What’s with the attitude? |
… |
That sounds lonely |
Don’t worry about it |
Yeah, I can tell |
… |
We help each other |
They’re all survivors |
I do whatever it takes |
… |
What about my family?! |
Why should I trust you? |
Lead the way |
… |
On your way to Prescott, you’ll be attacked by walkers. Press the buttons as they appear on the screen to defeat the enemies, and jump behind the gate to find shelter in town.
I’ll be cool |
No promises |
She’s the one to watch out for |
… |
We won’t stay long |
Should I be worried? |
Charming little town! |
… |
After you’ve regained control of your character, look around. You’ll find some interesting things inside, and two people playing cards by the bar. Talk to them as soon as you’re ready.
Yea, I got screwed |
Want an autograph? |
Ancient story |
… |
Call his bluff |
You should fold |
I don’t gamble anymore |
… |
Yea I am |
Take it easy |
She doesn’t need one |
… |
I don’t control her |
Back off, Clem! |
Punch Him |
… |
After a small quarrel ends tragically, you’ll face another important choice. This time, you have to decide whether to cover for Clem and lie that she killed the arms dealer for a good reason, or admit that it was an accident.
- Yes, She was justified – You say that Clem shot him, because he attacked you (covering for her)
- It was just an accident! – You say that it was just an accident (telling the truth)
The difference in this choice lies in the general outlook of your situation. In the first case, you and Clementine are locked up in a cage, where you are visited by Eleanor, who comes offering help. In the latter case, you’re the one going to see Eleanor to have your wound fixed. No matter your previous decision, right after you talk to Eleanor, you will have to make another one, this time regarding you leaving Prescott.
- Go with Tripp in the morning – You decide to stay the night in Prescott and head for the junkyard with Tripp.
- Leave with Eleanor tonight – You decide to leave Prescott with Eleanor, on the same night.
The game will now play a short flashback, one of Clementine’s memories, based on the decisions you’ve made in the previous installments of The Walking Dead. The options include a scene with Kenny, with Jane, with Clementine herself, or with AJ. The scene itself will have no influence on the present and it’s nothing more than a little tidbit for the fans of the series. A simple one and fitting right into the game’s formula. No matter your actions in the flashback, all characters except Clementine and AJ will die.
On the way to the junkyard, you’re gonna have to have a short talk with either Tripp or Eleanor.
I didn’t ask her to |
She’s a good person |
You jealous? |
… |
After the talk, kill the walker using a hammer laying on the ground and pick up the nearby tape player. Soon after, the first person you’ll be able to rescue, Mariana, will come running from the junk yard; you can give her the player.
Are you hurt? |
I’m sorry I left you |
You did good |
… |
Next in line to be saved will be Kate with her step-son. Make your way to them, killing all the walkers you stumble across on the way, by pressing at the right time the buttons appearing on the screen. Once the two are safe, talk to Kate.
That’s just my gun |
I’m glad to see everyone |
[Kiss Kate] |
… |
It’s over now |
But you made it! |
I’d never let that happen |
… |
She saved my life |
Just somebody I met |
Clementine’s my friend |
… |
Don’t get your hopes up |
I’m sure they do! |
I think so? |
… |
Don’t jinx it |
I’m lucky |
I didn’t expect it either |
… |
Neither have I |
Let’s renegotiate |
I was hoping you’d stay |
… |
After this short, too short, moment of joy, comes death and pain, and you’ll have to make the last important choice in this episode. You can stay with Clementine and fight, or take your family and head for Prescott. The situation will be identical, no matter whether you’d come with Tripp or Eleanor.
- Leave with family – Leave Clementine, taking your family to Prescott.
- Stand and fight – Stay with Clementine to repel the enemy attack. You abandon your family, leaving Tripp / Eleanor to take them to Prescott.
Important choice #1
The first important choice regards the events on the junk yard. You have to decide whether you and your family keep on moving or stay the night on the junk yard.
Important choice #2
Another important choice will be the situation after the car crash.
Important choice #3
The third important choice takes place in Prescott. This time, you have to decide whether to lie and cover for Clem or admit to the residents that the whole thing was just an accident.
Important choice #4
The fourth important choice is also Prescott-related and takes place after Clem shoots the arms dealer. You have to decide whether you go to the junk yard with Eleanor or with Tripp.
- Go with Tripp in the morning – You decide to stay the night in Prescott and head for the junkyard with Tripp.
- Leave with Eleanor tonight – You decide to leave Prescott with Eleanor, on the same night.
The difference lies in the narrative. In the first case, Tripp will be the one shown in the final minutes of the episode, in the second – Eleanor. All other things remain the same and either way you’re gonna have to retreat to Prescott during the shootout.
Important choice #5
The next important choice ends the first episode. You need to decide whether you stay with Clementine and help her fight off the incoming enemies or take your family and head for Prescott.
- Leave with family – Leave Clementine, taking your family to Prescott.
- Stand and fight – Stay with Clementine to repel the enemy attack. You abandon your family, leaving Tripp / Eleanor to take them to Prescott.
This choice will determine the ending of the first episode, or rather the first half of it. If you choose the first option, you’ll take your family to Prescott, leaving Clementine behind. Once there, you’ll have a short talk with Eleanor, Kate and Gabby about the whole incident, and then help Eleanor remove the bullet from Kate’s wound. If you decide for the second option, you’ll stay with Clementine to repel the thugs. This will allow you to say goodbye to Mariana, and bury her, before you join your family in Prescott.
The first chapter will begin with a short flashback, depicting one of the many quarrel Javier had with his brother. Talk to Kate and proceed to make your first important choice in this episode.
I insist, let me |
You’re the boss |
Make David do it! |
… |
He can just deal with it |
Why won’t he talk to me? |
Already forgotten |
… |
Be serious |
Uh… sure? |
You’re married |
… |
You can blame me |
He’ll understand |
He should worry about your hand |
… |
Hold on |
Pull away |
Back off, David! |
It’s just a glass |
You’re both overreacting |
… |
The important choice comes after the talk. You can tell David to knock it off, taking Kate’s side, or let it go, as it’s a matter between a husband and a wife.
- Tell him off – Defend Kate and tell David to knock it off.
- Let it go – Remain uninvolved.
Just like in real life, coming in between a husband and a wife never ends good for both sides. If you choose the first option, both characters – David and Kate alike will be irritated by your action, which may have consequences in the future.
The remaining part of the chapter depends on your decision in the previous episode (Important choice 5). If you had decided to stay with your family, you’d be the one assisting with the operation; had you stayed with Clementine, everything would be already done when you return to Prescott. No matter your choice, though, the result will be the same. Talk to Eleanor once you’re back in town.
That was horrible |
Did we do enough? |
Thank you |
… |
I can’t loose her |
You’re giving up? |
Thanks for being honest |
… |
Having talked to Eleanor, you will have to find Gabe. On your way to the main gate, you will see a bottle of water on your left, which you can give to Kate later on – pick it up before you leave town. Once you’ve got the water, exit through the main gate and talk to Gabe. During the conversation, you will be given the choice to give him Mariana’s tape player (assuming you didn’t leave it in her grave).
- Keep tape player – Keep the player
- Give tape player – Give the tape player to Gabe
It wouldn’t help |
I miss her too |
I’m sorry, we can’t |
… |
You’re right |
I understand |
You did what you could |
… |
It’s not that easy |
You’re already a man |
He’s not here |
… |
After you’ve talked to Gabe, some visitors from New Frontier will knock on the town’s gates, with a hostage, to make things interesting. Your conversation with them will end with another important choice.
That’s bulls**t! |
I don’t regret it |
They killed Mariana |
… |
Go F*** yourselves! |
Can we talk about this? |
I don’t think so |
… |
This isn’t justice! |
I don’t give a sh**! |
Don’t hurt her! |
… |
I’m coming down! |
We can work this out! |
[Open fire] |
… |
If you choose the first or the second option, you’ll agree on the terms the aggressors offer. Both options will end with a shootout though, the only difference being who’ll be the first one to shoot. Options 1 and 2 will result in Clementine opening fire; in option 3, you’ll be the one to pull the trigger. In both cases Francine will be killed and Prescott destroyed.
During the attack, you’ll have to complete a short QTE, requiring you to push the buttons appearing on the screen.
The chapter will begin with your escape from the destroyed Prescott. On the way, you’ll be able to talk to the other members of your group.
Francine deserved better |
We will make them pay |
I’m so sorry |
… |
Back the hell off |
I lost my niece |
That’s not fair |
… |
What are you doing? |
That’s not helping |
Put the gun down! |
… |
Do it already! |
He’s unarmed |
Enough! |
… |
Listen to Clem |
I’m with you |
We don’t have time for this |
… |
She’s trouble |
He’s not ready |
I hope so |
… |
I can’t loose you |
You’ll make it |
Need a pity party? |
… |
You can’t leave me |
What about Gabe? |
Don’t talk like that |
… |
David was tough |
I’ll look out for him |
He’s doing just fine |
… |
I can do that |
It’s up to him |
You’re not going anywhere |
… |
Let me guess, we’re lost |
We don’t have time to stop |
What’s going on? |
… |
Your task in this chapter is to clear the road of car wrecks blocking your way. First, look around you – you’ll see a repair garage and a car blocking your way. Inside, you’ll find a winch. Unfortunately, out of order. To use it, you’ll need two things: a wrench which can be found on a walker’s body inside the garage, and the wires inside the trunk of the red car standing near the gas station. After you combine these two things with the winch, you’ll be able to start it and move the wreckage that’s been blocking your way. When the zombies attack, push the buttons as they appear on the screen to escape on the roof and discuss the situation with other characters.
We wait |
We run |
We’re f**cked |
… |
We’re armed! |
Show yourself! |
We don’t want any trouble! |
… |
Shoot |
Talk |
Threaten |
… |
After you walk into the trap prepared by a stranger, you’ll have to talk to him. Luckily, Clementine will soon come to help you, with the rest of the group in tow, and you’ll have to face another important decision in this episode.
Put the gun down |
I don’t want trouble |
Talk then |
… |
We just met |
They might! |
They’re good people |
… |
He’s not with them |
He’s tracking us |
[Check for the brand] |
… |
He’s playing us |
He can help us |
Let’s get moving |
… |
After you’ve talked to the stranger, you’ll have to decide whether to tie him up, or trust him.
- Tie him up – Tie him up
- Trust him – Trust him
The choice is completely insignificant, because even if you do tie up Paul, he will free himself during the walker attack and help Gabe fend them of.
The chapter will begin with a short flashback. From it, you’ll learn how Clementine got involved with New Frontier and what she’s been through there. Push the buttons as they appear on the screen to defeat the walkers and talk to the stranger.
Protect AJ |
Let her in |
Block the door |
… |
Shut up and listen |
Don’t come any closer |
Get out |
… |
Thanks |
I don’t think so |
Yea, we do |
… |
What do you care? |
I’m old enough |
His parents are dead |
… |
What were you looking for? |
Don’t get your hopes on |
It’s a tough world |
… |
After the flashback, Clem will confess her acquaintance with New Frontier to Javi. You’re gonna have to talk to her about this.
You lied to me Clem |
You’re one of them? |
Holy sh*T |
.. |
Tell me I can trust you |
Did they kill your family? |
I’ve heard enough |
… |
The remaining part of the chapter is dedicated to defending from walkers. Push the buttons on the screen as they appear, and once the situation is under control, talk to Conrad about Clementine’s situation.
You got this wrong |
Put it down, Conrad |
This is insane! |
… |
Lower the damn gun |
Let’s leave her here |
She’s one of US! |
… |
Not a Chance |
That could work |
[Draw your gun] |
… |
Now, you’ll face yet another important decision. You have to decide whether to shoot Conrad, saving Gabe and Clementine, or to accept his plan to hand over Clementine in exchange for Kate’s life.
- Accept the plan – You accept Conrad’s plan. This equals betraying Clementine and saving Gabe.
- Shoot Conrad – You kill Conrad, saving both Gabe and Clementine.
Choosing the first option will have you accept Conrad’s proposition – Clem will be captured and brought to New Frontier. By doing this you will completely betray her trust, which you’ll hear from her during a short conversation. In this episode, though, there will be no direct consequences to your decision. If you decide to shoot Conrad instead, you’ll lie to the rest of the group that he was unable to escape from the walkers.
No matter your previous choice, you and the rest of your group will head for the town. On the way, you’ll be able to talk to the others. If you’ve chosen the first option, both Clementine and Conrad will accompany you. If you’ve chosen the second option, Conrad will be dead and Clem will have ran away.
She’s New Frontier |
Don’t worry about her |
She took off |
… |
Don’t get cocky |
Who knows? |
Yeah, it’s strange |
… |
On the way to town, you’ll notice Kate’s car far ahead, and with her inside. Talk to her before you approach the town gates.
Very funny |
You scared me! |
We’re all out |
… |
I won’t let her out |
I’ll reason with them |
We’ve lost enough |
… |
Let’s just get inside first |
Maybe someplace warmer? |
You go it |
… |
Let’s put grudges aside |
Please, we need your help |
Just open the gates! |
… |
If she dies, it’s on you |
Because I need her |
She’s a mother |
… |
Please, just let us in! |
I could shoot you |
You owe us |
… |
This is the last important choice in this episode. You have to decide whether you keep your arms, or hand them over, as a condition to be let into town.
- Keep your guns – Refuse
- Drop your guns – Disarm yourself
No matter your choice, the episode ends here. The person you’re talking to will call their boss, the leader of New Frontier, who turns out to be… David. Your brother.
Important choice #1
Your first important choice in this chapter will take place during your conversation with Kate and David.
Important choice #2
Your second important choice is at the beginning of the second chapter. You’ll have to decide whether to shoot the aggressors standing in front of the gate, or take the risk and hand yourself over to them.
- I’m coming down! – Go down and do as they say.
- [Open fire] – Shoot them.
If you choose the first or the second option, you’ll agree on the terms the aggressors offer. Both will end with a shootout though, the only difference being who’ll be the first one to shoot. Options 1 and 2 will result in Clementine opening fire; in option 3, you’ll be one to pull the trigger. In both cases Francine will be killed and Prescott destroyed.
Important choice #3
The third important choice is in the fourth chapter of this episode.
Important choice #4
The fourth, and the most important choice of this episode takes place in the fifth chapter.
Choosing the first option will have you accept Conrad’s proposition, Clem will be captured and brought to New Frontier. By doing this you will completely betray her trust, which you’ll hear from her during a short conversation. In this episode, though, there will be no direct consequences to your decision. If you decide to shoot Conrad instead, you’ll lie to the rest of the group that he was unable to escape from the walkers.
Important choice #5
The last, fifth important choice will take place at the end of the sixth chapter. You have to decide whether you keep your arms, or hand them over to prove your good will.
- Keep your guns – Refuse
- Drop your guns – Disarm yourself
No matter your choice, the episode ends here. The person you’re talking to will call their boss, the leader of New Frontier, who turns out to be… David. Your brother.
You will start this chapter with one of Javier’s memories. Speak with Kate and press the right buttons to defend against walkers.
We have to try |
You can go back |
It’s not worth it |
… |
Let’s keep looking |
Don’t beat yourself |
Not so loud! |
… |
Drew is gone now |
That’s an awful sight |
Can’t let your guard down |
… |
We should get back |
I’m here for you |
Finish the conversation with Kate, go back home and speak with the children about leaving this dangerous place.
Time to go |
This is home |
No place is safe |

Not your call |
We need help |
It’s dangerous here |
… |
David would agree |
He’s not coming back |
Safety first |

We saw your friend |
Don’t worry about it |
Kate got scared |
… |
We’ll be okay |
We’ll find him |
We love him |

The chapter will start with the cliffhanger from episode two – meeting your brother, David.
Holy shit |
Thank god |
I thought you died |

He’s not kidding |
David was gone |
It’s complicated |

It’s possible |

You really believe that? |
… |
You don’t know that |
Give him a chance |
He does have a temper |

David can help us |
We do it their way |

It was senseless |
They shot her in the head |

We were ambushed |
I was kidnapped |
… |
I will follow your lead |
Over my dead body |
You can’t let that happen |
… |
Baseball is long gone |

… |
Did you even try? |
Forget about it |
We waited for months |

It was all Kate |
We were a team |
I told you I would |

After a short walk around the town, you will finally meet Kate in the hospital. Talk to her before you leave.
Beat me to it |
Much better now |
I’m always okay |
… |
She really is |
You’re lucky |
Of course you’d say that |
… |
I feel the same |
You should rest |
Gabe’s happy here |

We’re safer here |
What about David? |
I promise |

Could be her stitches |
She’s still delirious |
What are you saying? |
… |
She’s locked up |
We brought here |
Pay more attention |
… |
The next chapter will start with a conversation with the leader of New Frontier. Talk to him and explain what has happened before.
I can’t complain |
Feels like home |
You threw me in a cel |
… |
Cake. Definitely cake |
Vegetables please |
It all looks delicious |
… |
I can adjust |
Not my thing |
Who put you in charge? |
… |
I know the mark |
That looks painful |
Won’t age well |
… |
I know how you feel |
Can’t protect everyone |
Your methods worry me |
… |
No problem here |
We’re not friends |
Can’t stand him |
… |
Max is lying! |
We needed it |
Didn’t know it was yours |
… |
You kidnapped me! |
His words against mine |
I regret that |
… |
I’m not the bad guy |
I protected my people |
Get off your high horse |
… |
Here comes your first important decision in this chapter. You need to decide whether you want to reveal the truth about Marianna’s murder or keep it to yourself.
- I got nothing to say – you will not tell the leader the truth and act according to David’s plan.
- Your people killed my niece! – You will reveal that it was the group from New Frontier that murdered your niece.
The only difference will be a couple of lines of dialogue but the result will stay the same. You and your group will be banished.
My family is here |
David, do something! |
F that! |
… |
You’re not helping |
It’s not Ava’s fault |
You’ll get us killed! |
… |
Give me some credit |
Shut your mouth |
It didn’t go as planned |
… |
Finish a short conversation with your group and draw your weapon and take out your map. It will show you the location where you are supposed to meet with David (marked on your map with a red x). As soon as you do that look up in the sky and look for the North Star, which will show you the way. It the brightest star of the Little Bear (Little Dipper), so focus on the middle part of the sky.
The last thing to do, is sharing the weapons that you received from David. Your decision will have a major effect. You may give Conrad back his weapon (if he survived in the previous episode).
- I’ll hold on to it – keep the gun for yourself. Conrad will die during the escape, as he won’t be able to defend himself against zombies.
- You take the gun – give Conrad back his weapon. This decision is crucial, as Conrad will survive the next zombie attack. You may also make him kill Badger (a special dialogue option just for Conrad)
Chapter will begin with travelling to your destination. On you way, you will have to speak with members of your group and defend yourself against a zombie attack.
It’s personal |
She’s family |
I have a feelings for her |
… |
You got that right |
Love is worth it |
It’s all up to you |
… |
After a short talk with Tripp, you will be attacked by walkers. Press the buttons that appear on the screen to eliminate the danger.
Eliminate the walkers and you will play as Clem, who will have to make another difficult choice. You will need to decide whether or not you want to inject AJ.
- Put drugs back – you will not use the drug
- Inject AJ -AJ takes antibiotics
Regardless of your decision, Clem will be exiled from New Frontier, and AJ will remain with them. There won’t be any consequences in the future, and you will learn that AJ will live.
I’m so sorry |
AJ had you |
David was heartless |
[Hug Clem] |
Your next taks is to reach a building while running away from walkers. In order to do that, approach the garage door and try to lift it. You will fail to do that, so reach the car on the left and take a jack and a jack lever, located inside. Just watch out for walkers that will jump out of the vehicle.
Chapter will begin at the moment when you run away from zombies and hide in the building. Immediately, you will hear David shouting to let him inside. You may decide if you want to let him in, but regardless of your decision, the situation will end up in the same way – if you don’t let him in, Jesus will.
I owe her my life |
She’ll be gone soon |
You’re a heartless bastard |
… |
Even to your family? |
You’re an asshole |
That’s heartless, man |
… |
He wouldn’t lie |
Isn’t this good? |
I don’t buy it |
… |
No. Not happening |
You’re ditching me? |
Finally, you’re stepping up |
… |
It must be your people |
What assholes did this? |
Don’t bullshit me |
… |
Shame, you can’t keep it |
Let’s see your head pop |
This shit is stolen |
… |
Your task is to catch Badger. Press the buttons that appear on the screen and incapacitate the thief. It’s time to decide on Badger’s fate.
- Let him turn – walk away and let him turn into a zombie
- Kill Badger – kill Badger by hitting him with a baseball bat on the head (you can stop at any time or continue the massacre in front of Tripp).
- Let Conrad kill Badger – Let Conrad have his vengeance. Conrad kills Badger by shooting him in the head. Remember! This dialogue option will be available only if Conrad survived the last episode and you provided him with a gun in chapter three.
Now you will have to interrogate Max and execute him (optional).
Come clean Max |
Let’s just kill him |
Talk or I’ll hurt you |
… |
- Take him back – Spare Max and use his confession at the end of the episode during confrontation with Joan. Max will be very helpful in revealing Joan’s intentions (this is not possible if you kill him).
- Execute Max – kill Max. As Max is dead, you cannot confront Joan in the final scene.
Chapter is all about confronting Joan. First, talk to your group in order to establish a plan.
Yea, it did |
Don’t lecture me |
I thought it would |
… |
You’re going alone? |
We don’t need you |
Please don’t leave |
… |
I got you, brother |
I’ll do it for Kate |
You’re gonna owe me |
… |
See you there |
Don’t wait up |
Let’s stick together |
… |
I can handle him |
I trust my brother |
You’re right Clem |
… |
Sneak pass guards patrolling the streets. Throw a rock at the window to distract them and head for the hospital to speak with Kate.
Don’t worry, I’m fine |
Are you guys okay? |
We’ve got to go |
… |
Taking care of things |
We’ll meet him soon |
It’s not safe here |
… |
Joan betrayed him |
David’s handling it |
Don’t believe her |
… |
We must stop Joan |
I just want you safe |
David needs us |
.. |
- We stay with David – You stick to David’s plan
- Kate’s right. Let’s go – You try to leave the city with Kate
This choice will determine to some extent the ending of this episode. After selecting the former option “We stay with David”, you, along with Kate and Gabe will head to David’s flat, where Ava be awaiting you. As the conversation will progress, you will be able to get them to a safe place, and thus fulfill David’s will. However, if you choose the other option, Gabe will try to look for his father alone and you with Kate will try to escape the city. Unfortunately, you will get caught. Kate will be lucky enough to run away but you will be taken to the meeting point. Keep in mind that you won’t know where Kate and Gabe are and you will have to confess to David that you were willing to run away Kate and leave others behind.
Regardless of your decision, you will be taken to the leader of New Frontier.
Max is dead
He’s helping his people |
You’re the traitor Joan |
It’s not betrayal |
… |
How dare you! |
You’re welcome |
We had to |
… |
You freaking liar! |
I should kill you |
Please tell the truth |
… |
She’s playing you |
Listen to David |
Grow a backbone! |
… |
The episode ends with a struggle against Joan’s people. David will eventually draw his gun and fire. Unfortunately, you won’t find out who was his target and if he was successful.
Max is alive
We’re on to you |
Shut up! |
You don’t deserve respect |
… |
Remember our deal |
Start talking or else |
Don’t be scared of her |
… |
But at what cost? |
Why the secrecy? |
How dare you! |
… |
Joan is delusional! |
She’s got a point |
I can’t live like that |
… |
Just let us leave |
Go F yourself |
You won’t get away with this |
… |
The second option results in a slightly different ending. You and David will be made to kneel down and surrender.
Important decision #1
This takes place during the interrogation in chapter three. You may reveal the true about Mariana’s murder – David’s daughter, or keep it to yourself, as David suggests.
- I got nothing to say – you will not tell the leader the truth and accord according to David’s plan.
- Your people killed my niece! – You will reveal that it was the group from New Frontier that murdered your niece.
The only difference will be a couple of lines of dialogue but the result will stay the same. You and your group will be banished.
Important decision #2
Your second important decision will take place in the fourth chapter and you will have to decide whether or not you will AJ the antibiotic.
- Put drugs back – you will not use the drug
- Inject AJ -AJ takes antibiotics
Regardless of your decision, Clem will be exiled from New Frontier, and AJ will remain with them. There won’t be any consequences in the future, and you will learn that AJ will live.
Important decision #3
Your next decision will determine Badger’s fate, and it takes place in chapter five. You need to decide whether you want to kill him, let him turn into a zombie, or give him to Conrad.
Important decision #4
This decision will concern Max, and it takes place in chapter five. You may execute him or use his help.
This decision will determine the ending of this episode to some extent. If you pick the first option, you and Max will surrender. If you kill Max, David will shoot at people at the assembly. Unfortunately, you won’t find out who was his target and if he was successful.
Important decision #5
Your last choice will take place in the final chapter of the episode. You can stick to David’s plan, which means taking Kate and Gabe to a safe place, or try to leave the city with Kate.
This chapter lists the important choices taking place in episode four.
- Choice #1
- Choice #2
- Choice #3
- Choice #4
- Choice #5
Choice #1
The first important choice takes place at the end of chapter one. David will ask if you would take care of his family during his absence:
- You can count on me –Agree to take care of David’s family during his absence. This will result in better relations with Kate and Gabe, leading them to share their family stories etc.
- That’s your responsibility –Refuse, saying that it is his responsibility. Your friendship with the family will suffer.
Notes: The choice doesn’t introduce any significant alterations to the course of the game.
Choice #2
The second important choice happens in the course of chapter four. Lingard will wake up during your visit in the clinic, offering valuable information on AJ if you poison him in return.
- Refuse him – Refusing Lingard will result in a serious rift between you and Clementine, who will take it as an act of betrayal, making you unable to save one of the characters in the final phase of the game. Lingard himself survives, and will appear at the end of episode five.
- Kill Lingard –You’ve used the opportunity to kill Lingard. Before his demise, Lingard will share his secret regarding AJ and will be removed from the story. Clementine will be thankful, and will stand beside you in the finale (provided you haven’t betrayed her trust in other situations)
Notes: Killing Lingard gives you the ability to save Kate and Gabe in episode five.
Choice #3
The third choice appears at the beginning of chapter six. Kate will profess her feelings to Javier, suggesting a relationship.
- No. I don’t feel that way – Refuse Kate’s advances. From now on, your mutual interactions will be rather distant, with the epilogue seeing you removed from each other.
- Yes. I want to be with you – Profess your feelings and kiss Kate. If Kate managed to survive the episode, the epilogue will see both characters start a real relationship.
Notes: If you wish to be with Kate at the end of the episode, reciprocate.
Choice #4
The fourth major event takes place during the public execution. You can save one of the condemned:
- Save Tripp -. Your attempt to save the man will fail – Joan will kill him on the spot as a punishment for your meddling. The man won’t survive, but Ava will be let go.
- Save Ava – Similarly as in the case above – Ava will be promptly shot, while Tripp will be let go.
- Shoot Joan – Killing Joan will initiate a city-wide unrest. David will be executed, but your group will be able to save him from dying.
- Take the deal – If the deal went through, David will manage to get a hold of a weapon and shoot Clint.
Notes: The hero who had survived will eventually die in the middle of the fifth episode.
Choice #5
The fifth and the final choice takes place promptly after the fourth one. You can shoot Joan or take the deal and be exiled from the city:
Notes: In reality, the choice does not matter that much, as the surviving hero who’ve managed to survive (Joan/Tripp) doesn’t appear in the final episode.
The beginning of this chapter leaves us with a flashback. This time, we are taken to a court that is used by the brothers to hone their baseball skills. Suddenly, a young boy approaches Javier and asks him for an autograph:
Dialogue |
Not right now |
Make it quick |
Anything for a fan! |
… |
Dialogue |
You got it |
No thanks |
(Make it worthless) |
… |
You’ve went back to your training. Choose whether you want to respond to the ball:
Dialogue |
(Swing and miss) |
(Crush it) |
Time for a conversation between brothers:
Dialogue |
Not gonna happen |
Sorry about that |
Chill, David |
… |
The practice left David quite irritated. The conversation goes on:
Dialogue |
David, grow up! |
Wait… let’s talk! |
I thought we’d play more! |
… |
Dialogue |
Help me understand |
Drop the attidue |
Let’s not fight about this |
… |
You’ll learn that David wants to enlist:
Dialogue |
Your family needs you |
Do what you gotta do |
That won’t fix anything |
… |
Dialogue |
These kids are too young |
Mom and Dad will worry |
I won’t stop you |
… |
David decides to go through with his plan. Time for a first major choice found in this episode. Your brother asks you if you would take care of his family during his absence:
- You can count on me – Agreeing to take care of David’s family will result in better relations with Kate and Gabriel.
- That’s your responsibility – Refuse, saying that it his responsibility. This will result in frigid relations with the whole family.

The choice marks the end of the flashback – you are back in jail.
Dialogue |
You just do what she says? |
We refuse to compromise |
I can play along |
… |
Dialogue |
It was Kate’s idea |
It’s not safe here |
Joan’s the real enemy |
… |
Dialogue |
We can beat them |
This is your fault |
Stop sulking |
… |
Dialogue |
They can’t break us |
We’ll win at any cost |
Be ready for anything |
… |
The prisoners are visited by Joan and her guard.
Dialogue |
I’ll be a huge problem |
Not if you let us go |
You’re the boss |
… |
Dialogue |
Just get to the point |
You’re the problem |
Richmond is dangerous |
… |
Dialogue |
You might be |
That’s unfair! |
Your plan will backfire |
… |
Regardless of how you led the conversation, David will be taken, leaving you alone in the cell. Follow the steps below to escape the containment:
- Approach the sink and grab the pipe underneath
- Proceed to the grated window and take a look
- Climb to the bench next to the lockers
- Make your way left and pick up the chair
If you’ve performed all actions, you’ll encounter Kate (or Gabriel) who will help you escape the prison, ending chapter one.
Kate and Javier are in progress of getting out of the restricted zone. A conversation will follow:
Dialogue |
That was foolhardy |
Thanks for risking it |
I’m impressed |
… |
Dialogue |
He feels betrayed |
Don’t think about him |
I didn’t tell him anything |
… |
Dialogue |
We’re gonna leave |
They can’t catch us |
Just protect yourself |
… |
You’ll soon reach a safe location guarded by Gabe, who will greet you with a warm welcome:
Dialogue |
You’re being an asshole |
Leaving you was wrong |
Happy to see you! |
… |
The group will be joined by Tripp. You’ll receive a recap of the recent events:
Dialogue |
We’ve gotta go |
David is in danger |
Joan is lying to everyone |
… |
Dialogue |
Joan locked us up |
It’d only worry you |
Do you guys need time? |
… |
Dialogue |
You bet we will |
No. We’re leaving |
Let us figure out how |
… |
Dialogue |
David needs us |
We gotta be safe |
We can’t talk our way out |
… |
After a moment, Tripp will bend your ear and tell you about his argument with Eleanore. You can let him on a secret:
Dialogue |
You’re being an idiot |
We’ve all been there |
Not my business |
… |
Dialogue |
Get Over it |
Give it time |
Follow your heart |
… |
The aftermath of the conversation sees you embark on a weapon hunt along with Gabe.
You and Gabe are sneaking to a weapons storage. Javier will exchange a few dialogues with the boy:
Dialogue |
Be merciless if needed |
Trust the right people |
Walkers don’t shoot back |
… |
Dialogue |
Good idea, Gabe |
That sounds risky |
Absolutely not |
… |
You’ve made it to the interior thanks to Gabe, who has managed to distract the guard. Use the fire extinguisher to unlock the door to the storage. Gabe will express his happiness:
Dialogue |
Yeah, we do |
Not exactly |
We’re not done yet |
… |
You’ve been made. Ava has caught you red handed:
Dialogue |
We’re getting guns |
Trying to help David |
Protecting my family |
… |
Dialogue |
David’s in trouble |
Kate wanted to got |
Richmond is a bad place |
… |
Dialogue |
David trusts me |
We’re desperate |
We’ve gotta stop Joan |
… |
You’ve managed to convince Ava to let the matter slide – the whole group will leave the room. You’ll hear footsteps – turn right and hide behind the door. When the intruder appears at the door, Gabe decides to engage him. You’ll be fighting an opponent equipped with a knife – press the buttons shown on the screen to defeat the enemy. The aftermath of the fight sees you talk with Gabe:
Dialogue |
Don’t worry Kid |
I’ve been better |
What the fuck, Gabe?! |
… |
The group decides to visit the clinic to patch up the deep cut received by Javier in the course of the fight.
Unexpectedly, Javier encounters Clementine, who browses the contents of the facility’s drawers. She will offer to tend to your wound:
Dialogue |
Thought you left |
Need some help? |
Who did you expect? |
… |
Dialogue |
You done this before? |
Lingard’s not up for it |
Go for it |
… |
Dialogue |
It’s a normal thing |
You’re gowing up |
Oh… that… |
… |
Approach the white box on the table and check for the tools needed to stitch up the wound. Return to Clementine and continue with the conversation. The girl will begin tending to the wound, beginning a new flashback.
Dialogue |
Come out! |
Who’s there? |
(Draw Knife) |
… |
Dialogue |
I’ll get him back |
You’re not sorry |
Fuck off |
… |
Ava has brought Clementine a bag of supplies. Take a look inside and check all the items. Click on the doodle to continue the conversation:
Dialogue |
I don’t need one |
I used to have Lee |
You stole mine! |
… |
Dialogue |
Go away! |
I promise |
I don’t have it in me |
… |
You are now left with a small choice – you can thank Ava by making a handshake or tell her to leave. Nevertheless, the choice does not yield any major consequences. After a moment, you’ll be taken back to the present and rejoin Javier. The unconscious doctor – Lingard – has reawakened:
Dialogue |
There’s a slim chance |
None of your business |
Joan took him! |
… |
Dialogue |
David was a good dad |
Aj belongs with family |
Clem can judge that |
… |
The second important choice found in this episode. Lingard will tell the duo more about AJ’s whereabouts if Javier will kill him with a deadly injection.
- Refuse him – Refusing Lingard will result in a serious rift between you and Clementine, who will render you unable to save one of the heroes during the final showdown. The doctor himself survives, and will appear at the end of episode five.
- Kill Lingard – Javier decides to inject the poison. The doctor will share his knowledge of AJ’s whereabouts and won’t appear in the story anymore. Clementine will be thankful and will stand beside you in the finale (provided you haven’t betrayed her trust in other situations)
If you’ve hesitated, Clementine will take the syringe and murder the doctor herself.
Note: The beginning of the chapter may take a slightly different course, based on whether you’ve shot Conrad at the end of episode two. The guide follows the storyline in which the man was killed. Moreover, I’ve spared Lingard.
Your return to the group’s dwelling is marked by a discussion following the current events and the plan to rescue David:
Dialogue |
Give him a break |
He needs help |
Lingard was out of it |
… |
Dialogue |
Shoot her dead |
Find some allies |
Return David to power |
… |
The group requested details on what has occurred in the weapons storage:
Dialogue |
Gabe screwed this up |
I got myself stabbed |
Nothing happened |
… |
Dialogue |
Stop talking Gabe |
That’s a good start |
Just slow down |
… |
Dialogue |
Nobody’s going to die |
Work with us, dammit |
Cut the shit, Gabe! |
… |
The intense moment results in a confession – Gabe will shout out that it was Javier who killed Conrad. A quarrel begins:
Dialogue |
I saved your life! |
You little prick! |
Don’t do this |
… |
Dialogue |
I would do it again |
You weren’t there |
He would’ve killed them |
… |
Dialogue |
Go to hell |
I’ll leave |
I’m really sorry |
… |
You’ll leave the building after the argument and begin the search for a truck. Gabe will be unhappy, as he was sent to be a look-out:
Dialogue |
Grow up, dammit! |
Don’t make me beg |
We’ve all got jobs to do |
… |
You’ll assume control over the main hero once the scuffle has ended. Turn right and make your way to the garage. Open the door and make an attempt to open a truck. A group of guards will appear after a moment – the team has to push the truck out the garage. Gabe will start talking:
Dialogue |
Just push the truck |
Glad you were here |
I’m trying to keep you safe |
… |
Your hero will approach a toolbox – take the scissors. Unexpectedly, Javier’s hand will be grabbed by a walker – use the hammer to shatter his head. You are now left with a few scenes that see you press the keys appearing on the screen. Finally, you’ll manage to jumpstart the lights and distract the undead. Connect the remaining cables – the group will manage to escape without a scratch, ending chapter 5.
The cut-scene ends with a conversation with Kate. The course of the conversation will differ following your choices and your overall attitude:
Dialogue |
Those were good times |
It hurts to think about |
There’s things I don’t miss |
… |
Dialogue |
Hope it works out |
I just don’t like it |
That’s kinda crazy |
… |
Dialogue |
Falling is the easy part |
I’d be a fucking wreck |
I envy them |
… |
Dialogue |
You did your best |
That world is gone |
We still can |
… |
Dialogue |
I’m not so sure |
That’s who I am |
People need me |
… |
Finally, the woman will profess her feelings, leaving you with a third major choice found in this episode:
- No. I don’t feel that way – You’ve decided to refuse her advances. The woman will become quite distant, and you won’t be together during the epilogue. On the other hand, this will enable you to avoid the confrontation with David.
- Yes. I want to be with you – Javier will reciprocate and kiss Kate. Moreover, if the woman survives the finale, both heroes will enter a relationship.

You’ll learn that David is to be hanged on the main square. Javier will discuss the situation with Gabe and Clementine:
Dialogue |
Maybe the walkie died |
I’m worried about Ava |
We can’t get distracted |
… |
You’ve finally reached the square – Joan is leading the crowd before a public execution of David, who will be soon joined by Tripp and Ava:
Dialogue |
This means war |
It’s scare tactic |
Don’t lose your cool |
… |
Dialogue |
Go to hell, Joan! |
I’ll be happy to |
What’s in it for me? |
… |
Dialogue |
That’s still my plan |
Why punish David? |
Eleanor was mistaken |
… |
Dialogue |
Please don’t do this |
Stop playing games! |
Take me instead |
… |
Time for the fourth choice. You need to decide which prisoner should be spared:
- Save Tripp – Choosing Tripp is not a good idea, as… Joan will shoot him on the spot to deny you. The man won’t survive, and Ava will be the one to walk away.
- Save Ava – Similarly as in the case above, choosing Ava will prompt Joan to kill her, with Tripp being the one to walk away.
- Shoot Joan – Killing Joan will result in major uprising. David will be executed, but the group will manage to rescue him before he is strangled.
- Take the deal – After regaining his freedom, David will get a hold of a weapon and kill Clint.
The choice is followed by additional dialogues.
Dialogue |
Go fuck yourself! |
You’ll pay for this! |
How dare you? |
… |
Dialogue |
Stop her, Clint! |
This is bullshit! |
You’re pathetic! |
… |
The situation escalates, leaving you with another major decision. You can attack Joan or take the deal and agree to be exiled in order free David:
Regardless of your choice, David will survive, initiating a major shootout. You’ll be left with a long QTE sequence. David asks Gabe to cover him, and rushes into combat. Gabe looks up to Javier:
Dialogue |
Go help him, Gabe |
He doesn’t need us |
We’re not here for revenge |
… |
The dialogue is followed by additional action sequence. Depending on your choices, your team consists of Conrad/Tripp/Ava. Finally, Kate will drive the previously acquired truck into a barricade. The town will be invaded by a huge number of undead, while the episode itself will be concluded.
In this chapter you will find all important choices available in Epizode 5.
- Choice #1
- Choice #2
- Choice #3
- Choice #4
- Choice #5
Choice #1
The first major choice takes place at the beginning of the third chapter. Javier can choose to be back on friendly terms with David, or decide to keep to his own company.
- I’m not doing that – You’ve decided to stay back. David will take it as an offense, which ends in hostile remarks throughout the whole episode. Moreover, you won’t be able to save him in the final scenes of the episode.
- Stand with David – You’ve taken a step forward and joined David. Your relationship will be rekindled, enabling you to achieve an ending in which David survives.
Notes: Choose to stand with David if you want to save him later on.
Choice #2
This choice takes form of an argument between David and Javier at the end of chapter three. Dave will confront you regarding your relationship with Kate. You can choose to reveal your relationship, pretend that there is nothing going on (David will confront you if you are lying), or attempt to explain the affair to David.
Notes: Every choice is viable and will solve the problem but the chosen approach will affect Kate’s attitude in the epilogue, provided the woman survives the episode.
Choice #3
The third major choice, thrown at you moments after the one above. David will attack you, forcing you to decide whether you want to fight back or try to get through to him. You’ll be left with the same choice three times in a row.
- I love you – In this case, Javier will profess his feelings for his brother and won’t agree to fight him. This approach can lead to an ending where, for example, both David and Gabe manage to survive.
- Fight back – Javier will fight back, starting a full-on battle between brothers. Even if you follow David, he won’t survive the scene.
Note: You need be a pacifist if David is to survive the episode.
Choice #4
The fourth choice is a summary of your previous actions, and involves Clementine your standing with her. Clementine will make a decision to stay with Kate or follow Gabe. Everything depends on how your decisions (direct or indirect) have affected her.
Note: … and this creates an interesting situation. Clementine will embark to save either Gabe or David. If you want to reach an ending where Gabe survives, you need to distance yourself from the girl. However, staying close to Clementine and keeping good relations with David will result in a situation where Clem manages to save David.
Choice #5
The final choice takes place at the end of the third chapter. You need to choose whether to help Kate or go after Gabe and David.
- Help Kate and Richmond – You’ve decided to follow Kate and save Richmond from the undead. Kate will survive the episode.
- Go after Gabe and David – Unfortunately, only one of them will survive. The question who is determined by a number of decisions undertaken in the course of this episode. The only way to save Gabe is to have Clementine with you, while saving David requires you to stay on friendly terms and avoid engaging in any conflicts between the brothers. Unfortunately, choosing family means that Kate won’t survive the episode.
The chapter begins with a final flashback starring the main hero. This time, we take part in a game of dice between Javier, his father, and his brother. Choose one dice to begin a conversation with the rest of the family:
Dialogue |
You got lucky |
Good game, bro |
I’ll win next time |
… |
It turns out that the brothers’ father is battling cancer:
Dialogue |
I’m so sorry |
You look okay… |
Why didn’t you tell us |
… |
Dialogue |
I’m telling Mama |
I won’t say a thing |
You gotta tell her |
… |
Dialogue |
What the fuck, man? |
You’re the coward |
David, stop |
… |
You are left with a choice: you can plead with your father to continue fighting the disease, or tell him that it is his life and he can do what he wants. The choice is without any consequences. Finally, the man will ask both of you to take care of each other:
Dialogue |
You got it, Pa |
It’s up to him |
Never gonna happen |
… |
Notes: Your attitude towards your father and the decision whether to hear his plea can increase your chances of saving David in the final moments of this episode.
You are back to the present day. The city is under attack from the undead – press the buttons shown on the screen to repel the invaders. You’ve encountered David amidst the commotion:
Dialogue |
Help me find her! |
This is your fault |
I just saved you |
… |
Kate joins the scene:
Dialogue |
Whoa, slow down |
Real nice driving |
So happy you’re alive! |
… |
The conversation is followed by a short action sequence. After a short while, Javier, Gabe, and Clementine manage to find their way to a safe location, ending the chapter.
Chapter begins with an argument between David and the rest of the party:
Dialogue |
You’re right Dave |
It wasn’t necessary |
We’re screwed now |
… |
Dialogue |
Back off, David! |
He’s not a child |
You’re scaring him |
… |
Dialogue |
Go with David |
I can help you |
Be careful |
… |
Dialogue |
Get to a safe place |
Find a way to help |
See who made it through |
… |
The group moves to an upper floor, leaving you with an opportunity to talk with Kate:
Dialogue |
We’ll pull through |
You’re no monster |
Leave the past behind |
… |
Dialogue |
I’m responsible too |
Don’t blame yourself |
Shit happens |
… |
Dialogue |
Wasn’t expecting that |
Let’s make things right |
We can’t fix this |
… |
Javier enters one of the apartments, finding Eleonore – her first reaction may vary depending on whether you’ve killed Conrad or had witnessed Tripp’s execution:
Dialogue |
We want to help |
I did the right thing |
How dare you! |
… |
Dialogue |
I’ll forgive her |
No fucking way |
She’s gotta earn it |
… |
David has entered the room at the end of your conversation. You’ll now be a witness to a scene between Fern and Rufus. The man had been bitten by a zombie:
Dialogue |
This is tragic |
End his misery |
I saved his life once |
… |
Fern will ask you to sever the infected arm – you can agree or not:
Dialogue |
Okay. I’ll try |
I won’t do it |
You need a doctor |
… |
Unfortunately, the man will die from his wounds regardless if you’ve had performed the procedure. Distraught Fern breaks down and starts pointing her gun at Javier:
Dialogue |
This isn’t my fault |
Put the gun down |
I’m so sorry |
… |
Dialogue |
Please forgive us both |
This won’t fix anything |
I’ve lost family, too! |
… |
David disarms the woman and shoots the rising zombie. The whole room freaks out:
Dialogue |
I had it under control! |
You went overboard |
Thank you, David |
… |
Dialogue |
David’s trying to help |
That was unacceptable! |
She deserved it |
… |
David has left the room. Kate tells Javier to follow him.
Javier follows David to the roof, provoking a long Dialogue between the brothers:
Dialogue |
Step back from there! |
Don’t do anything rash |
Just jump already |
… |
Dialogue |
You have earned it |
I’m afraid of heights |
It takes a lot to scare me |
… |
Time for the first major choice found in this episode. David had asked you to stand by him:
- I’m not doing that – You’ve decided to stay put. David will take it as an offense, leading to hostile remarks in the following chapters. Moreover, you won’t be able to save him at the end of the episode.
- Stand with David – Your gesture had reestablished your bond, enabling you to reach an ending in which David survives the episode.

The choice is followed by additional Dialogues:
Dialogue |
I don’t get it |
It makes sense |
I miss that feeling |
… |
Dialogue |
You’re my brother |
That’s a good thing |
I don’t buy it |
… |
Dialogue |
You don’t need to |
Maybe you can’t |
There’s always a way |
… |
The brothers went back to the roof. The rest of the party appears, joined by Tripp or Ava (depending on who’ve survived the execution). The survivor begins a Dialogue:
Dialogue |
I’m glad he’s okay |
This awkward |
That’s more than I did |
… |
Dialogue |
That deal was fucked up |
I saw through her plan |
I’ll do it again |
… |
Dialogue |
You’re a good man |
About damn time |
Bygones |
… |
The conversation goes on:
Dialogue |
Let’s protect ourselves |
Take out these muertos |
We make this right |
… |
Dialogue |
You’re seeing things |
She likes me more |
Ask her yourself |
… |
The group made its way through the rooftops back to the area where you’ve found the truck. The heroes are talking in the meantime:
Dialogue |
But not anymore? |
It’s what kids do |
David did his best |
… |
Dialogue |
Thanks, Gabe |
He said that?! |
Your dad was right |
… |
Dialogue |
It’s not so bad |
I’m scared too |
Fear is useful |
… |
Proceed using the ledge and get a hold of your companion’s hand to avoid falling from the freeway. Unfortunately, Ava will be thrown off the bridge by an unexpected zombie attack. Soon, the group reaches a wrecked helicopter, beginning a new conversation:
Dialogue |
Kids aren’t easy |
Maybe ask him? |
David was scared |
… |
Dialogue |
You abandoned AJ |
You did right by him |
He must miss you |
… |
Grab the blade to initiate a new cutscene, seeing you talk with Kate and David:
Dialogue |
You’ve handled worse |
Don’t give up so easy |
Just don’t die |
… |
Dialogue |
Age before beauty |
After you, hotshot |
Who are you calling little |
… |
Unfortunately, Javier will break the propeller blade, suspending him over the ruptured part of the highway. Climb the blade and push the undead to the right to impale him on a pole. If Tripp is still with you, he’ll be attacked by zombies and thrown off the highway.
Finally, the group had managed to reach a warehouse:
Dialogue |
Don’t feed his ego |
I taught him well |
You should’ve noticed |
… |
Dialogue |
That’s really gross |
Please be kidding |
No way that works |
… |
Javier will descend to the street level and ambush on one of the zombies. Cut the zombie’s stomach open and cover yourself with its insides to avoid being detected. Your task is to reach the generator – continue moving forward and avoid getting in close contact with the undead. The generator will work as a decoy, enabling the rest of the party to get access to the garage.
Sadly, David decides it is time to hit the road and leave Richmond:
Dialogue |
That wasn’t the plan |
We do that, We die! |
Good thinking, David |
… |
Dialogue |
That’s crazy talk |
What about here? |
I wouldn’t mind that |
… |
Dialogue |
Her death is on you! |
We raised her, asshole |
You should’ve come back |
… |
If you’ve professed your feelings to Kate, David will confront you, leading to an argument and another major choice found in this episode.
Dialogue |
You left us together |
She deserves better |
We’re in love |
… |
Notes: This choice yields some major consequences – admitting to David that you and Kate are in love will result in Kate and Javier appearing in the epilogue as a couple. David will become angry – moreover, a lie won’t stick and will be confronted.
Revealing the truth leads to the third choice. David begins to lash out at Javi and starts attacking him. You can fight back, or stay idle and continue to affirm your standing. The situation will repeat itself three times.
- I love you – You’ll continue to stay on David’s side and won’t fight back regardless of his attacks. This approach will enable you to save David if you’ve decided to follow him.
- Fight back – You’ll turn hostile and start fighting back. As a result, Javier won’t be able to save David during a possible rescue.

Clementine has decided to intervene by shooting David and stopping the fight. Unfortunately, David takes Gabe with him and decides to escape. You will be subjected to a twist which is a result of the decisions undertaken in the previous episodes. Clementine will decide if she wants to go with Kate, or follow Gabe. Everything depends on the impression your previous decisions have made on the girl.
The cards are on the table – you need to decide whether you want to join Kate, or follow David and Gabe:
- Help Kate and Richmond – Javi will join Kate and help her save Richmond. The mission will be successful – the duo saves the city, and Kate will live through the end of the story.
- Go after Gabe and David – You’ve decided to go after Gabe and David. Unfortunately, the success of the mission is determined by a number of the decisions undertaken in the previous scenes of the episode. First of all, saving Gabe requires having Clementine with you. Moreover, David survives only if you’ve avoided brotherly conflicts and kept his side. Kate won’t survive the parting.
Notes: A choice of major importance determining the outcome of the story. Each option leads to a different scene.
This part of the walkthrough is dedicated to the variant in which Javier has decided to join Kate and Clementine in her mission to save Richmond. The initial part of the scene sees you press the buttons appearing on the screen, as Javier has to clear the nearby undead, unlock the gate, and throw the zombies off the bulldozer. Finally, the trio manages to start the machine and bar the opening. The group encounters Jesus, who is helping to fight off the enemy:
Dialogue |
So glad you came back! |
Same shit, different day |
Yeah, about that… |
… |
Once the city becomes secure, the group begins the search for Gabe and David. In this case, David is found dead, while Gabe is on the verge of changing into a zombie. You’ll begin the final Dialogue:
Dialogue |
You didn’t fuck up |
I can’t lose you too |
Don’t worry about that |
… |
Moreover, you can choose to shoot the boy before he changes into a zombie, or let Gabe do it on his own. The aftermath of the events sees Javier and Clementine travel to Richmond.
Notes: The episode can end in a few different ways. Here are the possible outcomes:
- Gabe and Kate survive the finale – Javi has to help Kate save Richmond. Clementine has to go after Gabe, which means that you need to be distant throughout the whole story and betray her trust in every instance (accept Conrad’s plan, refuse to kill Lingard, etc.).
- Gabe and David survive the finale – Choose to go after David and Gabe. The rescue will be successful if Javi has maintained a close relationship with his brother and managed to sway Clementine into going with him.
- Gabe survives the finale – Clementine has to follow you when embarking in pursuit of David and Gabe. Moreover, your relationship with David should be distant at the moment of the split.
As always, the final chapters offer a summary of the decisions undertaken throughout the whole episode. In this case, Javier meets with Kate in the church:
Dialogue |
Blame me |
Move on |
It was David’s fault |
… |
Dialogue |
Let’s make it happen |
We already had one |
It’s too soon |
… |
Javi encounters Jesus after leaving the church:
Dialogue |
At a high cost |
We could use you |
I like you, Jesus |
… |
Dialogue |
So they say |
C’mon stay… |
Rad armor, bro |
… |
Dialogue |
I’ll do it |
If I stay |
Shortcuts works |
… |
Jesus suggests taking over Richmond. You can agree with him or throw cold water on the idea. Javi will be joined by Clementine (and Lingard if you hadn’t had taken care of him in the previous episode). If Lingard is alive, Clementine will ask about AJ’s whereabouts:
Opcja dialogowa |
Do it for Clementine |
Now’s your chance |
You owe us |
… |
The chapter ends after the conversation above.
Javi is helping Clementine in getting her hair cut. The girl starts to reminisce about AJ:
Dialogue |
He’s still too young |
Focus on his safety |
Who could forget you? |
… |
Dialogue |
You tried your best |
You probably weren’t |
Of course you were |
… |
Dialogue |
You just keep trying |
I don’t think you can |
Loss give you strength |
… |
Finally, Clementine will ask for your definite input on how to handle AJ. You can tell her to bring him to Richmond or leave him where he is – the choice influences the final cut-scene. Congratulations, you’ve managed to complete the third season of The Walking Dead!
